The Lemon Tree Restaurant is in delightful informal and relaxed surroundings, in the centre of Portlaoise, on 67 Main Street, above Grellan Delaney’s, which is opposite the court in Portlaoise.
John and his partner Bridget Doheny maintain excellent culinary standards, combined with friendly & efficient service.
To offer variety we change our menus on a regular basis. At present our menu boasts dishes such as:
- Crab cakes with a rocket Tappenade
- Fresh Irish scallops with a walnut and shallot dressing
- Confit of duck leg - Asian style
- Spinach & parmesan stuffed chicken with wild mushrooms
- Roast rump of lamb with smoked bacon and red wine
- Grilled seabass with coriander and hazelnut butter
The menu focuses on Modern Irish Cuisine. John has found a palatable balance of creating traditional dishes, using modern Irish ingredients, which strives to appeal to both young and old diners.
